The Price of Admission: Lessons from Youth Football
From the moment I first stepped onto the football field as a college player, the game has been more than just a sport to me. It’s been a way of life, a teacher of resilience, and a builder of character. My former college football coach had a saying: "We play to win the game." It's a mindset that has stayed with me throughout my professional career and now influences the way I view youth football.
This season, I had the privilege of following the Broncos of Brooklyn Park, Maryland, as they embarked on a remarkable journey. The Broncos' season was filled with highs and lows, but their determination and teamwork shone through. They clinched their season conference championship, a testament to their hard work and perseverance. Even when faced with challenges, such as injuries that required them to rely on less experienced players, they adapted and pushed forward. Through my lens, I captured not just the action on the field, but the spirit and camaraderie that define youth football.
